This is my favorite fractal that you've submitted to DA . I think you should consider it for your portfolio. But here's the thing- I don't know anything about "fractals". Instead, I'm looking at this just as a piece of art. It engages me. I love the color. I love how sometimes I look at it and it seems full of life and other times it is calm and serene. It feels "right"- balanced and interesting. It's why I bought cards of it! So.... you may know more about what those who will review the portfolio are looking for (like all that coding or whatever???) above and beyond the art side of it...and if this meets criteria. Or if they even ARE looking beyond the art side. Your work is good and I hope you get accepted to the school Good Luck!
p.s. DON"T Give up if they don't accept you. This is NOT your "last chance". Never believe that.
Thank you very much for choosing Confliction. It's one of my lesser known favourites; I'd've favoured a Daily Deviation for this much more than I would've for Ribbons.
I've already had Confliction printed - as a personal print. It should be in today.
And not to sound too sure of myself, but I don't fear that my portfolio won't be accepted. Everything I've ever sent in to anything has gotten accepted - the Principal has already seen my work, and she loved it. What worries me is that I'll procrastinate too much to get it done. That's how I missed out on Scholastics twice in a row. My Art teacher and my Photography teacher both scolded me for it.
LOL Well, at least you're trying better this time around! Lesson learned and all that... Enjoy your work. Best of luck in your endeavors. I look forward to following your career a long time, whether here at DA or out in the world.
Actually, this is relatively easy compared to a majority of my other fractals in the sense that this is a pure fractal - simply repetition repeated infinitely. Most of my fractals aren't repetitions of the same shape, merely a shape of their own.
I actually have a lot of stuff like this, if you think I should upload it

That'd be cool. ^-^
And it could just be something different, or everyone happens to be online tonight. I've had people comment on fractals that seem way out of my norm, and then no one comment on regular ones. It could just be that people are enjoying seeing something different.
Here's the price range for the base prices on the two next sizes:
12" x 18" = $11.99 to $14.99 16" x 24" = $19.99 to $23.99 [Glossy & Matte to Lustre]
Since you're looking to spend around $20, I can re-render it to a 16" x 24" size and sell it at the base price [sacrificing profit]. I recommend spending the extra $4 for the Lustre 16" x 24", because it seems better than the other two in terms of colour quality.
So including the %20 discount currently active, it should come out to this:
16" x 24" w/ Lustre Finish for $19.19
Won't be sure until I make the bigger print. How's that?
