To those of you that are not my Watchers, and haven't already read this, please note - I am not religious. The choice of title was based off of a religious belief, yes, but I do not make fractals to reflect my religious preferences. If you have any issues or complaints regarding the subject [the "Rapture"], please do not voice them here.
All sternness aside, I rather like how this came out, but I can't help wishing I hadn't included fallout in this. Unfortunately, it provided the shape of the fractal I wanted. And why did I make a fractal based on the Rapture?
I was remembering some text I read somewhere about what the Rapture was, and I remember thinking, "being left behind [oh, yes, I was reading the Left Behind series] would be worse than Hell. It would just be Hell on earth." I remember thinking that if by some chance, God does exist, if he's pissed off enough to keep people out of Heaven, he's pissed off enough to make them suffer. So to all of you religious people that want to go to Heaven - DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND. If you don't start floating with everyone else, just grab somebody's leg and let them pull you up with them.
Religion is often a good source, it can lead to some really cool art. I love the sort of colour 'echo' - the paler outside ring, that's the same shape as the orange central bottom part. It strikes me I am rather clueless... hopefully you know what I'm on about...
But then, just like on YouTube, there are the people that just join to cause issues, and never submit any actual art. Mostly teenagers that don't understand what deviantART is for. One of them was arguing with me.
Hehe, I won't get into a debate about it but actually, most people's idea of what the "Rapture" is (even Christian's ideas) isn't in the Bible at all. But it does make for good movies starring Kirk Cameron. xD
Anyway, I love this fractal! It's very beautiful, and it does seem to hold a religious emotion to it. You know, the gold in the center kind of looks like the Ark of the Covenant to be honest. But more importantly, the gold seems to represent this power and holy energy, that is bursting forth and reaching every corner.
Very good job, and I think you titled this one just fine. xD
I don't know why, but I've made a lot of religious fractals lately. I do find religion interesting, but not usually this interesting. I don't know, maybe I'm searching for a faith and I don't know it. I still have five more I haven't uploaded.
Thank you very much I was hoping to make it less blurry, but I think the blurriness helps preserve most of the color.
Religion is definitely much more fascinating when you can observe it from afar and actually *study* it, as opposed to having it force-fed to you, whether it be from childhood or a more recent internet debate.
The other thing to remember is that although religion contains faith, it's also comprised of so much literature, art, music, and human history- it can be appreciated like anything else really, as long as both "sides" are respectful of one another.
Hmm...I agree on your decision to keep the blurry. I think the color is definitely the powerful part of this fractal- besides, it's crystal clear in it's golden center, arguably the most important section imo.
Dang, I typed a full five paragraph reply to this, but the browser closed. Anyway, I was given my choice on religion [mostly] when I got older, so now I'm Agnostic. I'm tolerant of anyone's religions, but for some reason, I've always been drawn toward Christianity. Mostly because most of my family is just that. I disapprove of those who fight about religion [or anything, for that matter - especially race, because there is only one race - the human race].
